| I 100% agree with you, but, the devil is in the details. the stock TT rear weighs 19.5 pounds and is 16 inches. I doubt anyone is going to buy new 16's for all around performance(big brakes, tires, looking silly, sidewall flex, etc etc) so lets talk about 17's at least. Moving the weight of the barrel section of the wheel outward greatly increased the energy required (mathed out for the day). Well how about shaving off a ton of weight? The problem here is that feather light 17's are still in the area of 17 pounds per wheel. you haven't really won at all here. Now that we are at 17 pounds per wheel, we would greatly increase our selection of wheels if we raised our weight limit a few pounds and really wouldn't do anything that drastic to the performance. Remember the tire weight about as much as the wheel and is located much further from the center, so therefore as a much greater effect than the wheel. So really... Lets talk tire weight :)

Putting AMS garbage, and $500 ebay wheels on a Z is like dressing a Victorias Secret model in a Walmart dress and Payless shoes. You're embarrassing yourself. |
